Important Note: Only food from the Museum Cafe may be consumed on the premises, enabling us to manage allergen, food safety and insurance requirements. To ensure the Museum is never overcrowded all children and all adults must purchase tickets prior to arrival.
SNEAK PEEK
Set inside one of Geelong’s most charming buildings (c1962) the Geelong Museum spans two levels, a generous rear garden, and a central fully-licensed cafe. Peninsula locals and the 25,000+ tourists that visit each year all agree; MoPA Geelong truly is one of the worlds most beautiful Children’s Museums.
Car parking is available on McKillop Street, at the Museum’s doorstep. Nearby streets also offer unrestricted parking on weekends and 2 to 4 hour parking from Monday to Friday.
Accessibility
MoPA Geelong enjoys good accessibly with ramped access from front to back, accessible bathrooms, accessible change rooms, and additional portable ramps on site. The beautiful old building does feature a mezzanine level, accessible via stairs only, though this area represents just 15% of the total experience. Generous seating is also provided throughout the Geelong Museum, both inside and out.
MEMBERSHIP
5,000+ Members enjoy the extraordinary value of unlimited visitation. Most members visit 15+ times per year, however value is found after just five visits. Priced from $64 to $88.
As we head into the holiday period, we thought it would be helpful to remind our gorgeous guests that you must book your tickets to MoPA online, prior to arrival.
We receive amazing feedback about limiting entry numbers in order to maintain a comfortable and safe environment.
Many of the team at MoPA are parents too, and so you can be sure that we all fully appreciate how difficult it can be to be super organised with your lil’uns 24-48 hours ahead of time. Booking your tickets online, however, does mean that you will never ever find MoPA to be overcrowded - even if it’s a rainy day in the middle of the school holidays ☔️🚗🎨🌈
The first week of school holidays are already 85-90% sold out, but there are LOTS of tickets available after Xmas and into January ♥️
From today right up until Christmas eve, ALL children visiting MoPA can work with our educators to create and take home their very own PERSONALISE-ABLE SNOW DOME!!
Yep. That’s right. Snow. In a dome. AND a drawing. Also in the dome. Cutest. Gift. Ever.
A tribute to Nonny? A nod to Uncle Lach? A gift for Auntie Paula? Or perhaps simply “The place where Iggy came from” (thanks Lily, Mum did clarify that Iggy is your lil’ plush penguin).
YOUR child’s snow dome can be whatever their imagination desires; and EVERY child that visits MoPA will receive one to make and take - from now and Christmas eve. Epic.
🥳 MoPA Thomastown will open on Wednesday 4th December, and tickets are available as of… RIGHT… NOW!
Please note that pre-booked tickets to visit all of our Museums are essential, and walk-ins are not available. Rest assured that this policy guarantees that we are NEVER overcrowded, and you will ALWAYS have ample space to enjoy the Museum.
We do expect the first few weeks will sell out quite quickly, so please be sure to jump onto our website soon - to secure the time slot that suits you and your friends best.
1. Memberships: Our best seller 2. Gift Cards: A close second 3. Gift Shop Goodies: VERY popular
THIS year we ALSO have something extra special planned for those choosing to gift from MoPA 🫶🏼 — Every Membership gifted will receive a FREE $38 Gift Pack, and every Gift Card Gifted will receive a FREE $8 Craft Gifting Ornament!!
Oh… And please do give our lil’ elves a buzz if you need help choosing 1800 00 66 82!! x
FINALLY - The big (well, GIANT) reveal is less than 3 weeks away!
And after almost a full year in design and construction, we just can’t WAIT to show you all of what’s on offer at Melbourne’s new Children’s Museum.
Whilst we haven’t put tickets on sale yet, we HAVE opened bookings for Birthday Parties 🥳 Note: If you ARE keen to book a party, we recommend that you book at least 8-12 weeks in advance, because all our party availability does sell out.
What does red sound like? Yellow smell like? Pink feel like? MoPA’s all-senses colour wheel is a beautiful introduction to abstract thinking for lil’ cuties. It’s a wondrous experience to share with your children (you can almost SEE their brains ticking away) and that’s why it’s 100% our fav… ONE of… our favourite exhibits. 😜🎨♥️
